Rijnbrink’s WoWi bus is a vehicle meant to bring digital state of the art to the public, since digital and “normal” life are becoming more intertwined. Their aim is to teach people about new technology and programming through a fun and interactive way. Their main target group are children between the ages of 8 and 12. The problem that they face is that their bus does not entice the children to come inside, leading to a lack of attention and thus further marketing.
There were 3 types of solutions found to combat this problem. The first option was to change the exterior design of the bus. On the subjects of colour and efficient and attractive use of space, research was done. For example, brighter colours and larger icons could be used to make the bus more attractive and make it easier to understand what is going on inside the bus.
Another possibility was to change the physical design of the bus. Three other implementations were the use of icons, a ramp and whiteboard. The icons could be hung on the outside of the bus, which could be changed when the bus was used for different audiences. A ramp instead of stairs increases accessibility and the idea of openness. A whiteboard on the outside of the bus could be used for various things, including showing daily information or explaining.

The second solution was to put something outside of the bus that would be attractive to look at and/or to listen to. The best situation would be when the installation would also be interactive, so the children could also experience how fun technology can be.
Two installations were thought of: the first was a glove that can control the frequency of an LED blinking in combination with a motor. This gives
the illusion that the wearer can stop time depending on the frequency difference that is chosen between the motor and LED blinking rate.
The third solution was a programming coding game that should be placed outside the bus to make it interactive from the outside as well as the inside. If the correct puzzle piece is placed in the correct slot, lights will blink.
